Easter

The Saturday before Easter Caden went on an Easter Egg Hunt with Erica and Joclyn while I went to the doctor's (for an allergic reaction that has since cleared up). Apparently, Caden was much more interested in eating his snack than finding eggs. Later, we went down to our neighbor Melisa's house to dye eggs with Gordon, Donna, Jack, Bailey, and Molly. Caden's hands were pretty much in the green egg dye the whole time we were dying eggs and so we named him the Hulk because his hands were green for days afterwards. On Easter morning, Caden searched for eggs that the Easter bunny hid around our house. He had lots of fun and has had even more fun eating the candy. He has now become a candy monster. Because I was still not feeling well, I didn't cook an Easter dinner as planned, but we did go to the neighbors' house (Tricia, Chuck, Lexi, Gabi and Taylor). A few days later I cooked the ham and Erica and Joclyn came over as planned. That night Chuck and his son Stewart came over to plant a tre in the back yard. Yea- I finally have a tree in the back! All in all we had a nice Easter.

St. Patrick's Day

Our neighbors, Dawn, Elaina, Lauren and Michael, invited us to go down to Savannah to see the St Patrick's Day parade (apparently, the second largest in the country). Caden had a blast and made a lot of new friends. We stayed with Dawn's husband's sister and her family. So we had 7 children under one roof with 4 others staying close by at the grandparents house. What a party it was!

Fun with Josephine and Luca

Josephine and Luca came to visit us the second weekend in March. I had fun visiting with my friend from Philadelphia and Caden had fun sharing his toys (and if you believe that second part, you don't know too many 1.5 year olds). Yes, Caden and Luca had fun together, but Caden did get jealous and act out. Life can be tough sometimes, huh? I'm blaming most of Caden's bad behavior on his canine teeth coming in. All in all, we had a good time; we went to a birthday party for our 1 year old friend Joclyn, we took the boys to the park, they played in the mall playground, they jumped on the beds, and they took baths together. What more could you ask for? We miss you guys!

At the Savannah River Walk

Here's a photo of Caden at the Savannah River. Erica, Dale, Jocyln, their dogs (Major and Sargent), Caden, me and our dogs (Astro and Ellie) all went down to the Savannah River Walk. Caden had a great time running around and really wanted to throw the rocks and sticks in the water. After wards, we went to the Cotton Patch for lunch, which I'm not sure I would recommend. The service was slow and the food was nothing special.

Well, now I'm having technical difficulties. I'm trying to add some more pictures, but it's not working for whatever reason. I'm going to try opening the pics in another post.

Happy

These past 2 days have been great. Caden and I are having a good time and have been very happy- a relief from the hard times of teething this past week. Yesterday we had music class, which Caden loves. Then we invited Erica, Dale, and Jocelyn over for an impromptu dinner. Caden was perfect. He was fun. He was charming. Jocelyn, not quite a year old, was walking around.

This morning Caden had school at St. Teresa's. The teachers said that he had a great day. I'll try to scan in some of his artwork. Tonight we had dinner at the new neighbors' house- Myra, Joe and Amy (age 7). While there, 4 other neighbor girls came to play (ages 4-10). Caden had a wonderful time hanging out with the girls- not to mention their dog, Toby.

First post

I've never been much of a journaler or blogger, but with having family and friends spread out all over the country and the world (with Nate being in Kuwait), I thought it might be a fun way to share what's going on in our lives. Plus, I figured that I needed to join the 21st century at some point or another.

Well, let's start with today. Caden and I went to our first playgroup this morning with the MOMS group of Evans (they are an international organization catering to the stay-at-home moms of the world: www.momsclub.org) Caden was shy and very slow to warm up to the other kids, but we both had fun and I was able to meet some more moms in the area. This afternoon, Caden played with the neighborhood kids. Overall, it was a nice day.

Caden appears to be teething and all 4 canines are coming in at the same time! OUCH!!! The past few days he has seemed a little grumpier than usual and has even woken up in the middle of the night, which is very unusual and I'm assuming is due to teething pain. According to Caden though, popsicles help with the pain.
